Once solely an online store, local plant nursery Epilo has taken over a former mechanic's warehouse in Woolloongabba, combining caffeination and plant purchasing to create the perfect daily ritual, study spot, meeting place or just weekend hangout. Inside the large industrial-style space is a jungle of thriving potted plants, while a coffee counter provides the nourishment, complete with baked goods whipped up by owner Harleigh Reimer's mother. 

As well as an array of monsteras, calatheas and ficuses, Epilo homes a curated selection of fresh and dried flowers, ceramics, homewares, gifts, terrariums and more, all of it chosen with the ethos of celebrating living colour in mind—so you may end up walking out with more than just a new plant baby. But when you do, you'll be empowered to be the best plant parent you can be thanks to the the QR code that comes with every plant, leading to care guides, tips and advice for your leafy new child. 

Before you settle on your purchases though, you can hit the cafe counter to order up a specialty coffee or plant-themed smoothie, and pair it with light bites like toasted sandwiches, filled croissants, sweet treats and more. Whatever you go for, you enjoy it on the cosy vintage couches downstairs or head up to the airy mezzanine level overlooking the lush greenery—the perfect spot to think about how many new plants you can feasibly fit into your lounge room.
