Food truck turned full-time laneway eatery, Tasty Pocket are Brisbane’s original pita pocket slingers and they have just established themselves in the coastal suburb of Wynnum, dishing up Greek classics and their signature pita pockets for dining in and takeaway.

After launching the food truck back in 2018, owner Justin Mabey has been dishing up Greek fusion feasts at weddings, parties and corporate functions across Brisbane and growing a legion of fans while doing it. Safe to say, the bricks and mortar venue has been long awaited by many, and will no doubt be a new Wynnum fave—especially considering its seaside location just a 400m walk from the Wynnum Esplanade and the Wynnum Wading Pool.

Share—or don’t—a slice of saganaki with a drizzle of hot honey sourced from their resident honey bees in Manly, and if you haven’t already, tuck into the signature pita pocket with your choice of kebab-style chicken, lamb, halloumi or falafel. The loaded fries, garnished with feta and paired with a trio of dips, will have the whole table will be drooling while sweet tooths can treat themselves to a baklava cheesecake—it’s a house favourite. 

While the venue is BYO for now, a liquor license is soon to come, so stay tuned.
