We’re all for a rooftop, especially one that opens out onto Melbourne’s brand new Sky Park, suspended over Collins Street.
Quarterhouse in Docklands, just near Southern Cross station is bringing us just that—with three levels of after-work or pre-game goodness, the mega-venue is set to be your go-to spot when you’re in that part of town.
From the ground up the crew are bringing us a classic, quintessential pub with an elevated feel, serving up hearty meals, cold drinks and live sports on an absolutely gargantuan 4m-wide LED screen with plenty of booths and high tables to enjoy a pint.
The menu is looking classic pub with a Euro-gastro pub twist: think fried squid with pickled fennel, lemon and aioli, wood-fired flatbread with olives, hummus and tapenade, and modern pub classics like their hot take on a parma, a chonky Quarterhouse Burger with bacon, blue cheese mayo, pickled onions, all on a milk bun with skin on fries, as well as a stack of steaks served with umami butter.
Upstairs is where the magic happens though with their huge open-air, wrap-around terrace offering laid-back indulgence, perfect for after work. This will open out onto the Sky Park suspended above Collins Street, part of the Melbourne Quarter development.
On the roof they’re slinging significantly more shareable cuisine such as wagyu beef skewers with pepperberry jus gras, seven different kinds of wood-fired pizza and some pubby dishes as well like a crumbed pork ribeye with lemon caper beurre noisette or pan-fried parra with salsa verde.
“It’s everything Melburnians love about a pub; casual with something for everyone, whilst also offering something unique with our rooftop bar overlooking the Sky Park,” venue manager Luke Bottoms says.
“Quarterhouse is exactly what this part of the CBD has been missing.”
