The Verdict

You won’t need much more than a dish and a spoon to enjoy yourself at Camberwell’s best hidden gem. An established local favourite, Dish & Spoon’s obvious focus on charming, knowledgeable service keeps brunch-lovers coming from Melbourne’s far and wide suburbs.

Instagrammable breakfast dishes include a creamy risotto hash (it’s the classier alternative to cold pizza come Sunday morning), orange brioche French toast (prepare to protect it from hungry eyes) and the Dish & Spoon benny complete with champagne vinegar hollandaise (hella yes).

There’s pikelets with strawberries and maple, and ingeniously, a bowl of Coco Pops on the kids menu. Can we pass as ten? 

Golden Grind, matcha and chai sits alongside your caffeinated AM drink options. Blended juices and shakes (go for the PB&J) are also on offer.

If the weather is behaving, head to the courtyard out back or the selection of outdoor tables near the front of the café. There’ll more than likely be a furry-tailed, fluffy-eared creatures hanging around to brighten your morning with the undeniable and irresistible magic of puppy love.
