Perth CBD And Central
Flora & Fauna
Cantonment St, Atwell Arcade, Fremantle WA 6160
Hidden in a Northbridge laneway, Flora & Fauna dishes up the prettiest plates of vegan brunching goodness alongside baked loaves from Every Day Bread and vegan pastries from W.H.I.P Patisserie. They recently moved from their tiny little hole-in-the-wall to a larger space in the same laneway, so you’ll now find plenty of space indoors as well (in case you’re not so keen to brave the sunshine this summer). Oh and if you ever see something about a vegan high tea, grab tickets immediately—they pop up from time to time and always sell out because they're that popular.
Petition
State Buildings, St Georges Tce &, Barrack St, Perth WA 6000
The team are always cooking up a seasonal storm at Petition Kitchen, so hands down it's still one the best spots to break your fast in the CBD. Head chef Jessica Roe describes the place.
“Casual, contemporary and buzzing with energy”.
The menu at Petition is seasonal and inspired by the freshest produce available, meaning you can make the trip a tradition and enjoy a rotation of new unique flavours.
“It keeps things fresh, exciting, and ever-evolving for our diners”.
We have to agree. Good coffee, a daring (but not too daring) breakfast menu and the gorgeous interior of the State Buildings should have this spot front-of-mind for hungry city-goers.
Dine By Arrival Hall
162 Aberdeen St, Northbridge WA 6003
Part sleek design store, part cool cafe, Arrival Hall is serving up some of the most aesthetically pleasing plates around Perth. You won’t find any eggs benny or big breakfasts here, though. The menu is sophisticated, refined and packed full of unique flavour combos that will surprise and delight. If you’re chasing a piece of edible art, you can’t go past their Jerusalem artichokes and avocado on toast—it’s one of the most ‘grammable brekkies we’ve ever cast our eyes on.
Forklore
102 Railway St Suite 11-12, City West Centre, West Perth WA 6005
Image credit: Forklore | Elle Borgward
If the crowds of people hovering outside every weekend don’t already tip you off, believe us when we say is an absolute winner. The menu has a heavy Asian influence backed by exceptional coffee and their trademark cakes, croissants, and baked treats. Co-Owners Han Ji Khor, Han Li Khor and Brian Kong are the crew making it happen behind the scenes, with Han Li also taking charge as pastry chef and Brian as head chef. We spoke to them to get a closer look into what you should try! If you aren’t sure what to give a go, a crowd-favourite appears to be the kimchi.
“Kimchi has become a regular and permanent fixture on the menu,” the team tells us. The kimchi fried rice with grilled pork belly, caramelized kimchi, mushrooms is one that catches our eye. If kimchi doesn’t strike your fancy, there’s plenty more to explore. From xo scrambled eggs and shokupan french toast to tonkotsu congee and a mind blowing katsu sando, there’s loads to tuck into beyond your standard smashed avo. Plus, forklore use teas such as matcha, hojicha, genmaicha, thai milk tea, oolong, and ceylon on a regular basis.
“We like to incorporate elements like mochi and sago, as they aren't frequently seen in a bakery setting.”
If the crowds out front weren’t a giveaway, folklore gets pretty buzzy during peak hour. If you’re after a calmer experience, the team recommends heading there in the early morning or after the lunch rush.
Garum
480 Hay St, Perth WA 6000
If you thought the bountiful Roman brekky banquet at Garum was just for hotel guests, let us set you straight. This lavish $45 all-you-can-eat breakfast is such an underrated gem in the CBD, with everything from frittata, crispy potatoes and scrambled eggs to continental meats, antipasti, wholesome salads and sweet treats like cannoli and croissants. Come hungry.
Sayers Sister
236 Lake St, Perth WA 6000
Sayers Sister doesn’t put a foot wrong when it comes to the most important meal of the day and it’s no secret that this is one of the best cafes in Northbridge. Constantly packed with hungry hoards looking to get their hands on a Bloody Mary and a Full Breakfast, this Lake Street eatery dishes out the sort of top notch meals we’ve come to expect from the Sayers name, like perfectly poached eggs, green pea and ricotta pikelets and toasted coconut bread with lemon curd.

North Of Perth
Nogi Lane
308 The Strand, Dianella WA 6059
Image credit: Nogi Lane | Danica Zuks
Trust us, Dianella's go-to is worth travelling for. The sweet brekkies are an absolute sight to behold. If you prefer to save dessert for later in your day, though, the rest of the menu slaps just as hard. We're talking prawn toast, pork belly potato hash and miso mushrooms with whipped feta on wakame buttered toast. Let's be honest, our fave from the new autumn menu though has to be the showstopping baked sticky date pancake with caramel popcorn, coconut caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.
Bagel O's
627 Beaufort St, Mount Lawley WA 6050
New Yorkers know a good thing when they see it. And clearly bagels are one of the best ways to start your day. At Bagel O's, you can get 'em plain with schmear or load 'em up with fillings like BLT, egg mayo and pastrami, egg and cream cheese (PEC). You probably won't need lunch if you go with the latter. We decided to speak with head chef Tristan Cook to get an insider scoop on all things Bagel O’s. Not sure what bagel to try? If you want to give the staff favourite a go, the S.E.C is popular among staff.
“The house made sausage patty, house made anchovies bbq and the jalapeno mayo with the American cheese and egg is a combo that hits,” Tristan tells us. “Most of the time we would add a hashbrown in it which we call ‘Make it heavy’”.
Like to go with the crowd? A crowd favourite is the Bronsolini, with mondo doro bacon, free range egg, scallion cream cheese, hashbrown with a squeeze of our house made chilli honey. If you love to try new things, you’re in luck.
“The bagel menu changes seasonally, save for the staples: Bronsolini, Lox or S.E.C’ Tristan tells us. “We are always thinking of new ideas, new taste and trying to be original with what we do”.
Servo
9 Electric La, Leederville WA 6007
By night, this plant-filled industrial style warehouse is pumping out cocktails and tasty snacks, but did you know the AM vibes are just as good at ? Round up your mates for hot chips topped with hollandaise and crispy bacon, handmade crumpets stacked high with salt and vinegar corn ribs and stracciatella on charred toast topped with lashings of avocado. Add mimosas if you're keen to start your boozing early or stick to coffee or their epic smoothie menu. This has to be one of our faves for a big group breakfast.
Little Sisto
145 Sackville Terrace, Doubleview WA 6018
leafy rear courtyard is a really cute spot for breakfast dates. They've got plenty of great options for hungry bellies but I'd definitely suggest giving the spicy scramble a crack. Made with fresh chilli, nduja (spicy salami paste), aged gouda cheese, spring onion, chives and za’atar spice on sourdough toast, it's mind blowingly good. Wash it down with a beautiful iced almond milk latte featuring their own house made almond milk.
Local & Aesthetic
769 Beaufort St, Mount Lawley WA 6050
Image credit: Local & Aesthetic | Instagram
has to be one of our fave breakfast spots in Perth. Its laid back community vibes and WA-centric menu is bolstered by the fact the space is also home to Rhubarb Records vinyl and an Indigenous art gallery and retail outlet. When we spoke to Owner Dominique Rae she described the atmosphere as “welcoming, spacious and lively, with a bustling cafe, beautiful outdoor deck area where you can bring your dogs and awesome retail offerings inside”.
As for what to eat, we asked Dominique if there are any staff-favourites she would recommend.
“A new staff favourite is the pumpkin pie french toast with sweet roast pumpkin cream, lemon myrtle cream cheese, pepita praline and maple syrup,” she told us, “we love to use lots of local and native ingredients. Crispy saltbush, lemon myrtle, pepperberries, wattleseed, davidson plum and strawberry gum. We also love to work with local suppliers for our produce.”
Otherwise UL recommends the house cured smoked salmon rye toast with whipped lemon myrtle feta and bright pickles, which we think is a super fresh way to start the day. Or, the chorizo with muhammara, dugite verde and poached egg on brioche toast—it's the kinda feed that guarantees to soak up any booze lingering in your system after a big night.
Soho Lane
Alexander, Buildings, 13/649 Beaufort St, Mount Lawley WA 6050
After spending more than a decade living in New York, Soho Lane owners Matt Miller and Trindy Adler are all about building inviting community spaces where everyone feels right at home, and this stunning pink-hued laneway spot delivers just that. In the kitchen they’re also providing a nod to New York, offering hangover-friendly dishes like fried chicken and waffles alongside all-day brunch classics.
Hobart Deli
45 Hobart St, North Perth WA 6006
Tucked away from the main North Perth strip, on a suburban street across from a lovely little gated park (perfect for kiddos and pups), is a breakfast no-brainer. Especially since the adorable corner cafe went through its revamp. Arrive early to secure a seat outside in the sunshine, then head in to order. We always struggle to pick between the banana french toast with added bacon (trust us) and the sausage and egg muffin, but it's all consistently good. There's also a cabinet full of awesome little to-go goodies if you wanna sit at the park instead.
Cheol's
Shop 8/609 Beaufort St, Mount Lawley WA 6050
Formerly known as Viaje, is an absolute back alley gem. They're now doing a whole new Korean thing by night. By day though, you can still get some of Perth's finest examples of Asian-fusion brekkies around.
We spoke to the team at Cheol’s to get a closer look at some hidden gems on their menu.
“An underrated dish we would recommend is the Black Pepper Beef Volcano (Stir-fried tenderised sliced beef with black pepper sauce, served with scrambled eggs, rice, and a side of cherry tomatoes and crunchy slaw) - volcano is word play for literally the mountain of beef built on top of rice and eggs, and how fiery the dish is which is great for spice lovers too”.
Their two locations have distinct atmospheres depending on what you’re looking for.
“Cheol’s Mount Lawley is centred around a dine-in experience, where the warm, welcoming setting encourages customers to slow down and enjoy their time,” the team tells us, “in contrast, Cheol’s East Perth caters to busy working professionals with a streamlined grab-and-go model, offering quick service in a bright and efficient space that still retains the friendly and personable feel we're known for."
Satchmo
This retro-inspired North Perth cafe showcases traditional Jewish cuisine with a New Orleans flair. Far from doing your regular smashed avo and eggs benny, we'd classify these brekkies as soul food. Think: mind blowing bagels, reubens, rooster rolls and meatball hoagies, backed up with good coffee and sweet slices of babka.
We asked Owner Nathan Karnovsky if there was a staff-favourite on the menu he would recommend.
“I think the Gumbo is one of our best dishes and although it has a following I’m surprised it’s not more popular, it’s a rich thick spicy seafood soup with crab, prawns, clams and okra”.
Chinta Cafe
29 Scarborough Beach Rd, North Perth WA 6006
When you match colourful, healthy breakfasts with specialty drinks like turmeric and beetroot lattes then add some tropical island vibes, you get in North Perth. Once you’re seated among the mini buddha statues and bamboo plants, we recommend you feast on their vegan big breakfast, the croissant royale or the delicious Shark Bay blue swimmer crab omelette. Don’t skip over the fresh juice menu either. We spoke to Owner Robyn who told us about a dish they would recommend.
“For a breakfast choice we recommend the beef rendang benedict. It’s loved by many and never disappoints.”
The venue is full of lush trees and greenery that instantly transports you to a relaxed holiday space to chill, unwind and have fun.
Little Donkey Corner
4/91 Wanneroo Rd, Tuart Hill WA 6060
Image credit: Little Donkey Corner | Instagram
The breakfast game at this unassuming little dog-friendly spot in Tuart Hill is insanely strong and backed up by quality coffee from Blacklist Coffee Roasters too. If you’re not sure what to order at , we have three go-to’s that always deliver. The Turkish Eggs are beyond good (especially with feta and smoked salmon added), the Brekky Burger, filled with chorizo, melted cheese and the silkiest scrambled eggs, is the definition of a perfect hangover cure and the ridiculously pretty Fairy Floss French Toast is screaming out for a spot on your socials.
We spoke to Owner Emilie Routheir to get some of her insider advice on what to order. “Our corn fritters is actually our biggest breakfast on the menu and such great value for what you get. They come with beetroot hummus, grilled halloumi, and a perfect poached egg—super tasty and super filling,” Emilie tells us.
When asked about some favourite ingredients that come up on the menu Emily says “we’re obsessed with our homemade vegan aioli—it’s on so many dishes, and people can’t get enough of it. Plus, it’s a win for pregnant ladies since it’s egg-free! We also love using stracciatella cheese from La Delizia, especially on our smashed avo. Lastly, our Aleppo butter sauce that we use for our Turkish egg is my personal favourite”
Mary Street Bakery
Perth, City Beach, West Leederville and Highgate
Purveyor of fine salted caramel doughnuts, fried chicken buttermilk pancakes and some of the best soft eggs going around, Mary Street Bakery needs very little introduction to the Perth brekky mob. Now boasting multiple locations all over Perth, we think it’s the O.G. that still takes the proverbial doughnut—its charming little corner location and split-level interior makes for a breakfast with true ambience. When we spoke to Operations Manager Chrissy she told us the best locations to visit depending on what vibe you’re looking for.
“We have five locations: two are open Monday to Friday in the city and are just grab and go and three in the burbs - Highgate, West Leederville and City Beach which have kitchens and therefore the brunch spots”.
If you need help choosing what item on the menu to pick, Chrissy gave us her personal opinions.
“The coconut oat slice is my favourite that people sleep on. It’s like an ANZAC biscuit but so much better. Chewy, caramely and delicious,” and, if you want more of a savoury choice, “the Savoury Danish - it’s a product we make to reduce our food waste so offcuts of pastry gets laminated together then smeared with zucchini beschamel, sliced zucchini, ricotta and mozzarella then rolled into a scroll. Definitely get it warmed up and you won’t be disappointed!
Lot One
Lot 1/46 Angove Dr, Hillarys WA 6025
Mornings at the dog beach followed by brunch at has to be one of the best ways to get your weekend going. Everything is delicious, and the menu changes seasonally. There’s brekky faves like nourish bowls, house crumpets and brisket benny, or for something more substantial the pancetta and clam linguine will hit the mark. Add a cocktail for extra Sunday goodness.
Runyeh Coffee
11/99 Caridean St, Heathridge WA 6027
Headed up by Josh McGinnity—the original owner behind local cafe institutions Hylin and Laika—Heathridge’s new cafe and roastery is a clear win for the northern burbs. With house-roasted milk blends as well as blacks and single origins and bottomless batch, it’s an essential stop for serious coffee folk. While wallet-friendly bites like the Double Sausage English Muffin and Reuben But Different will keep everyone happy.
We asked Josh if he had any personal favourites on the menu.
“The 12hr slow cooked brisket cheeseburger. Everyone always gravitates to the popular reuben or smashed pattie & scrambled egg english muffin, but I could eat the brisket cheeseburger every day. It comes with thinly sliced sweet potato crisps that are shallow fried by the chefs!”
Josh also gave us a spotlight on their bakers and chef.
“It would be simple to use one baker, but we use four to get the best of what they all offer. Sam at BREADBROS bakes the best and softest english muffin you’ll ever eat, Robbie at Knead does the best Rye or Miche, Arthur at Arthur’s Bakery does the best almond croissants and Holy Bagel for their bagels! Plus our chef made hash browns & fried chicken are both pretty incredible!”
The vibe? Energetic and welcoming, according to Josh.
“We pride ourselves on always greeting our customers with an enthusiastic entry and will do everything possible to make their stay exceed their expectations! Our staff make Runyeh what it is.”
If that doesn’t make you want to pay them a visit, then I don’t know what will

Peggy's
35 Market St, Fremantle WA 6160
If you live nearby this cool sandwich bar, consider us jealous. Peggy's sausage and egg muffin might just be one of our Roman Empires, we think about it that much. It's like the Maccas classic, except better. Think: melted American style cheese on a moreish little sausage patty topped with a special sauce and all wrapped in the fluffiest house baked muffin ever.
Artem Coffee
Shop 1/769 Canning Hwy, Applecross WA 6153
There’s a lot going on at Artem that you need to know about. House smoked meats, their own fermented chilli sauce and some of Perth’s best doughnuts make this a destination in its own right. It kind of goes without saying—a smoked meat sandwich followed by a fresh ball of dough is a must.
Darren, one of the owners, has walked us through some dishes and ingredients on the menu that deserve all the love.
“Definitely our Turkish Eggs! We put our Artem twist on it using soft boiled eggs and a spicy tomato butter that's made with korean chilli flakes”.
Artem Coffee makes their fermented ingredients in house, making for some delicious combos in their dishes.
“Our Sauerkraut for our fresh cut Reuben sandwiches on the weekend and toasties. Secondly our house fermented chilli sauce that we use for our chilli eggs. It's funny, tangy and spicy. Very unique!”

Trust us, it really doesn’t get much better than sitting in their garden, double parked with freshly squeezed juice and coffee and a big brekky in front of you.
Finlay & Sons
917 Beaufort St, Inglewood WA 6052
Image credit: Finlay & Sons | Instagram
For the eggs benny of your dreams, look no further than in Inglewood. Their iconic hash browns loaded up with perfectly poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, wilted spinach and giant slabs of thick cut bacon—it’s no wonder you guys shouted this spot out more than any other when we asked for your fave brekkies. These guys have also mastered the humble bacon and egg roll, which is best washed down with a coffee using beans by Twin Peaks. We spoke to Owner Hazar Kayhan about some hits on the menu.
“It has to be the Smashed Avocado, with our home made chilli jam and goat curd blending in with our smashed avocado, it is one of the most favourite combinations among us and also our customers.”
Their maple brussel sprouts are a staple for a number of different menu items, “whether as a sharing plate served with chilli jam & ranch or alongside our popular Goodness Bowl served with beetroot hummus, avocado, quinoa, kale coleslaw, cherry tomatoes & dukkah.”

Owner Varuna tells us the crowd favourites are currently the Turkish eggs and the Alabama pulled pork. If you want to try some other loved menu items, try their signature mont blanc and vegan cherry ripe drink or acai bowl with pistachio butter. What’s better? There is a designated play area and the venue is dog friendly

Image credit: 3.8 Baysie | Instagram

West Of Perth
Community Coffee Co
292a Barker Rd, Subiaco WA 6008
The egg sando coming out of Community Coffee Co's food truck is something everyone needs to try at least once in their life. Yes, it's that good. Personally, I like to throw in a hashbrown and their fermented chilli sauce for good measure, but the regular one still slaps. These sandos are pretty massive so if you're not super hungry you can easily share one with a mate and then split a NSS cinny scroll for your breakfast dessert.
Good Things
Mosman Park & Fremantle
Image credit: Good Things | Instagram
Raising Perth’s bar on good service and quality, honest food is Good Things, whose dining philosophy is basically summed up in the name. A very satisfying breakfast and brunch menu with a contemporary twist is served up until 2.30pm daily, against a backdrop of minimalism, neutrals and indoor plants. Easily one of Perth's best breakfasts and now available in Freo too.
Hylin
178 Railway Parade, West Leederville WA 6007
It’s as if the corner location of Hylin almost predetermined its ambience: the bustle of Railway Parade matches the hustle it takes to get a table here on weekends, but quickly gives way to the quiet of Abbotsford Street once you’re sat among the draping greenery, awaiting your smashed avo. Micrology coffee and a bang-on, satisfying breakfast offering bring this place home for the win.
Boucla
349 Rokeby Rd, Subiaco WA 6008
Boucla is known for its standup Mediterranean brekkies—think shakshuka, Turkish eggs and souffra—and damn good coffee. Pair this with the always impeccable service and eclectic cafe vibes, and you have a seriously charming spot for your next breakfast date. We asked owner Nil if there were any dishes he thought deserved more love.
“The house-made pastries, like the fig and walnut cake, are a quiet favourite among staff and regulars.”
Boucla infuses their dishes with many Mediterranean flavours, such as “halloumi, labneh, pomegranate, mint, and spiced nuts,” Nil tells us.
Boucla is full of character, warm vibes and perfect for relaxed catch-ups. Be sure to hit the cake cabinet up on your way out too
Daisies
305 Marmion St, Cottesloe WA 6011

Try their famous smashed avo toast served with Meredith feta, chilli dukkah and house-made chilli jam—you won’t regret it.
Someday Coffee Co
445 Cambridge St, Floreat WA 6014
Image credit: Someday Coffee Co | Instagram
Sitting very pretty on a corner along Cambridge Street is Floreat’s foremost breakfast spot, Someday Coffee Co. The pastel pink accents, bright whites, light pine and abundance of natural light are only the first thing to love about this place—it’s the food that’ll have you coming back repeatedly. As much a meeting place as it is an eatery, you’ll spot this place on Cambridge thanks to the hoard of people that tends to spill out onto the street in front of it.
Wards Central Dining
Victoria House, 4 Thorburn Way, Shenton Park WA 6008
There aren’t too many cafes in Perth serving a full Irish big breakfast alongside hollandaise topped eggs, shukshuka and Mexican-inspired avo on toast. It might sound like a pretty mad mix, but if you’re familiar with co-owners Craig Stewart and Lachlan Bisset’s other venues (North Street Store, Little Loaf Lunch Bar and Big Loaf Factory), you’ll know it all works just fine. nails the kind of home-style cooking you crave in a beautiful renovated character space fit for the most important meals of the day.
Bayside Kitchen
5 Hackett Dr., Crawley WA 6009
If stunning waterfront views are what you're craving, it doesn't get much better than Bayside Kitchen. Set along the banks of the Swan River near Matilda Bay, Bayside Kitchen's breakfast game is strong. The buttermilk pancakes always hit the spot, but the mushroom bruschetta sure makes sticking with your original choice tough.
Owner Warwick Lavis told us about a hidden gem that is worth trying.
“The spaghetti and meatballs is a definite staff favourite and one of those dishes that feels like a hug in a bowl. It's a classic, done really well — house-made pork and beef meatballs tossed through traditional tomato sauce, fresh spaghetti, and finished with parmesan and basil. It’s homely, comforting, and always hits the spot, especially when you’re craving something hearty and authentic.”
Other than their delicious hearty meals, Bayside is known for their eggs.
“Whether poached, scrambled or fried, eggs bring comfort and versatility, and they really anchor both our classic breakfasts and our seasonal specials,” Warwick tells us. “They're a simple ingredient but one that allows for endless creativity across the menu, from a rustic brunch to a fresh, nourishing lunch.”
The cafe sits upon a beautiful location, with stunning views. Warwick encapsulated the feeling perfectly when he told us, “whether you're popping in after a walk along Matilda Bay or settling in for a long brunch with friends over a glass of Ironcloud wine, there’s always a relaxed buzz that makes you feel like you're on holiday, even if just for a few hours.”
Cambridge Corner

has slid right to the top of our brekky hit list since Michelin-starred husband and wife chef-duo Sean Marshall and Kristina Jensen took it over last March. The sweet breakfasts and pastries are where it’s at, with some of the most beautiful lamingtons and breakfast pannacottas we’ve ever seen. If you’re more of a savoury fan, though, try the soft poached Turkish eggs on a bed of whipped garlic yoghurt doused with Aleppo chilli butter or the authentic Scandi breakfast plate of smoked salmon, Swiss cheese and pickles with dark rye. Don’t skip the ready made meal cabinet either!
The Shorehouse
278 Marine Parade, Swanbourne WA 6010
Perched on top of Swanbourne’s beach, the beachside eatery does every meal of the day. Whilst we love a good sunset drink and dinner, sipping on a Bloody Mary on a weekend morning also does the trick. The heirloom tomatoes with avo and stracciatella are a fresh way to start the day and the bacon and egg roll with a potato rosti will satisfy the traditional breakfast lovers in your life.
