This cool William Street haunt has the perfect vibe for date night or dinner and drinks with the crew. Serving up old favourites with a twist, there is no better option than the street food adventure with a whole heap of crazy delicious share plates. Start with the famed pani puri shots before moving onto chicken tikka, lamb ribs with tamarind, banana leaf fish and pork vindaloo mopped up with a healthy dose of rice and freshly cooked naan bread. The cocktails are superb - do not leave without ordering a tamarind margarita.

is the latest venture from internationally renowned Chef Gogo whose last restaurant Gogo's Madrid Curry House was hugely popular and attracted some very big names and many a cricketing star, as well as earning him plenty of TV time. All this to say, Chef Gogo knows how to craft dishes that people seriously love and his swanky new cafe, tapas joint and wine bar in South Perth is no different. By day you can work through an international street food-style brunch menu, but it's what happens after dark that we're really here for. Swing by to get stuck into tasty Indian tapas plates like Goan masala prawns, Shami kabab croquettes and Gogo's famous lamb chops. Everything's packed full of the best local produce around and can be paired with an excellent drop from the wine list.

chef Mervyn comes from a long line of chefs and hand makes everything himself, so you better believe everything coming out of this top spot in FOMO Fremantle is amazing. If you get in quick, you’ll be able to nab one of the crowd favourite pies filled with tantalising vindaloo or butter chicken wrapped in a flaky pastry case. There’s loads of vegan dishes to try and even vegan garlic naan cooked fresh in the tandoor. They also have a second store in Mirrabooka now too for anyone north of the river.

is the kind of place Freo locals try to keep hidden from the rest of Perth, but fortunately for us—the secret is out. The team has perfected modern Indian cuisine and every dish we’ve ever tried is teeming with flavour. The sourdough naan is basically a right of passage and as for choosing the rest, it’s certainly a challenge. Lamb rendang samosas, roast pumpkin with fried curry leaves and tamarind stracciatella all deserve a spot on your table. The menu changes with the seasons so trust your gut or ask one of the incredible staff to steer you in the right direction.

Everything at is simply divine. Your best bet at tackling the menu is to head here with a group and order as much as you possibly can. There’s nothing wrong with leftovers! Start with melt in the mouth tandoori chicken, classic onion bhajis and paneer chilli milli (deep fried cheese with spices) before digging into the eggplant curry, not-so-basic butter chicken and Goan fish curry. All the different types of naan, salad, chutneys and homemade ice cream are essential to add to your order.

You wouldn’t expect to find a little slice of India inside Dianella Plaza but this hidden dishes up a spread good enough to rival the best. This place is famous for its goat biryani; it’s cooked on the bone with rice and is pure deliciousness.

This place is so cheap, you’ll actually be saving money by going out. A big plate from the vegetarian buffet costs just $12 with curries and dahl complete with rice, naan and pappadams. You’ll even be treated to a dessert like halva and custard as well as a customary lassi. This authentic Hare Krishna restaurant is known for serving their food with a whole lotta love and it’s not hard to see why.

You’ll feel like you’ve been welcomed into someone’s home with the friendly staff at this hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Standing the test of time for over 30 years, the dishes are packed full of flavour with sustainable and locally sourced ingredients plus plenty of dairy and gluten free options. For an epic take away night, the value packs with your choice of curries along with dahl, naan, rice, raita and pappadams are just too good to pass up.

This bright and buzzing restaurant is a Rokeby Road institution. If you think you can handle the heat, test your taste buds with the spicy and delicious chicken vindaloo. We recommend ordering a side of the cucumber raita if it all gets a bit much—just don’t say we didn’t warn you. For the sensible folk, the house special goat curry is wickedly tender and the homemade pistachio kulfi ice cream is a real treat.
