Caravin is a compact, two-level French restaurant and wine bar in Potts Point by the team behind Bar Suze (and its successor B.S. Pasta Palace).

Co-owners Greg Bampton and Phil Stenvall have taken up the former Dumpling & Beer site and decked it out with vintage-inspired furniture, statement lighting, and hand-drawn motifs that enhance the historic elements of the charming space.

Caravin aims to evoke France’s venues that sit at the intersection of wine bars and neighbourhood restaurants—avoiding the formula of the ubiquitous bistro format—and offers a strong French wine list with a smattering of new- and old-school Aussie producers too.

Open Thursday–Sunday evenings and for lunch on weekends, Caravin is a Potts Point wine bar and restaurant that absolutely enhances the area’s reputation for evoking a little bit of Paris in Sydney’s inner east.
