After a solid decade of slinging grilled plates, cocktails, and good times, Tequila Mockingbird has officially called last drink—but it's all part of a bigger, brighter plan.
The iconic heritage-listed terrace at Paddington’s Five Ways has had a serious glow-up, now operating as a sunny South American eatery under the name tqm.
Previously at the world’s 36th best steakhouse, Fogón Asado in Buenos Aires, Michelin-rated Venezuelan chef Jose Garcia leads the tqm. kitchen, bringing asado mastery, theatre and soul to the table.
The menu is a love letter to Jose’s Latin roots and family-favourite recipes, packed with hits like XO prawns on a baked crispy rice bed, juicy beef cheek birria, blood sausage croquettes, and smoked white fish served atop a fried plantain chip—keeping it true to Tequila Mockingbird’s legacy of fine food made fun.
The OG Tequila Mockingbird Marg is also sticking around on the drinks list, joined by wines, beers and a lineup of creative cocktails like the Caribbean Queen with plantation pineapple, Rubi Averna, strawberry and pineapple; and the Grande Chartreuse Colada blending Chartreuse, Bacardi, pineapple, and coconut.
Inspired by the Venezuelan flag, a bold yellow now completely covers the venue inside and out with retro artworks plastered across the walls in a nod to Paddington’s thriving art gallery scene.
Sit up at the casual bar area, take a seat in the slender dining room or head out onto the leafy courtyard for a breezy meal.
