Recently opening as The Parlour Groups latest venture, Surly’s offers Surry Hills a true taste of Southern America and is accountable for inducing countless patrons into comfort food comas. If you’re after a true taste of ‘murica, we recommend the fried chicken served with mac n cheese, southern green beans, coleslaw or a bowl of one of their four, yes four, different types of fries.

We also can’t stop thinking about their American barbeque plate, which comes with a choice of pulled pork, spare ribs, beef ribs, beef brisket or chicken thigh and two sides of homemade cornbread. Be warned however, weekends are packed with crowds who like embracing their freedom of speech by vocally cheering for the football, so either embrace it or sit away from widescreen TVs!
